| A NaI-scintillation detector is used to localize
hidden gamma sources with high sensitivity. The detector is specially designed with rain
and shock protection and thermal insulation for outdoor use. For indication a
FH 40 G-L survey meter is used which measures simultaneously the precise local
gamma dose rate with its own built-in detector. The search operation is supported by
acoustical indication so that the user can concentrate on the environment.
For each detector separate alarm levels can be freely adjusted which will immediately
alarm the user if the gamma dose rate is too high and dangerous.
For extension of the physical range the NaI-detector can be mounted to the top of an
optional sturdy telescope. This way also high loads or places 'hard-to-reach' can be
investigated.
