To provide the optimum sensitivity the FHT 1388 uses 2 or 4
large area detectors, each 100 x 50 x 5 cm
- These detectors are much more sensitive. Therefore sources can be detected which are 6
times weaker than with crystal detectors. Or equal sources can be detected even when they
pass 40 times faster!
- These detectors cover a much wider angle. This increases the probability that
inhomogeneously shielded radiation is positively detected.
- Large detectors improve the probability that radiation uses the thinnest absorption
layer.
- Weatherproof detector housings developed for the extremest environmental conditions. ESM
systems are in use in arctic climate (snow storms, temperatures below -40o as well as
under high temperature/high humidity climates.
- The housings are resistant against dust, humidity, corrosion, fast temperature changes,
solar irradiation, aggressive compounds, vibrations and mechanical shocks.
