CCM PET Monitor FHT 3511
|

back |
For PET nuclides, such as F-18 and other positron emitters,
extremely low and very reliable detection limits down to 1kBq/m3 are achieved using
coincidence counting.
Coincidence counting improves the signal-to-background-ratio by one to two orders of
magnitude as compared to gross gamma or positron measurements.Easy installation at new
and old ducts - the detectors are ' wrapped' around the existing ducts without the need of
cutting and re-assembly |
 |
The benefits are striking:
- Stack monitoring specific for positron emitters (PET effluents)
- Total rejection of gammas from outside the active detection volume
- No "cross-talk" from other ducts or processes
- No heavy lead shielding necessary
- Dynamic compensation of radon progeny
- Calibration is easy: just place a solid reference source onto the outer surface of the
duct within the sensitive range of the detectors.
- No dismantling of the air duct or use of gaseous sources required for calibration
- No bypass loops with penetrations, pumps, valves, ...
- No sealing problems
- The efficiency is not depending on the positron energy of the applied PET nuclide
- Signal-to-background ratio enhanced between 1 and 2 orders of magnitude
- Versatile Windows based software for operation and report generation
